The Misty Meadows Stirrup Program
Misty Meadows offers a Stirrup Program for those riders who are interested. In the hopes of creating a more efficient process for our daily lessons, and resulting in more saddle time for the riders, we are offering a discounted price to all students if they want to purchase their own set of stirrup leathers and irons.
The farm will coordinate the purchase, labeling and storage of these leathers/irons for each rider and they will be put on the rider’s tack for each lesson.
This program will help all of us:
• Create a more efficient process for our daily lessons
• Result in more saddle time for the riders
• Alleviate the need to adjust stirrups after a rider mounts
• Allow for an immediate transition into the lesson content
• Raise the bar on our safety standards
• Give riders a sense of ownership for their own riding gear
Here are the details:
The 2011–2012 Misty Meadows Stirrup Program
WHAT: Each rider can purchase their own set of quality leathers
and stirrup irons sized to their needs
COST: $100 per rider (one time fee); due by Sept 1
STORAGE: Labeled hooks at the farm
At this point in their riding, a set of leathers and irons will last riders for many years (especially when they are well cared for!). If riders opt out of riding at any point, they can re-sell leathers and irons on consignment for 70-80% of their original cost.
If you wish for your rider to participate in the Stirrup Program, please fill out the appropriate section on the Contract Page of the Lesson Registration Packet at the start of each year, or contact Erica directly HERE.
